We have a number of exciting opportunities for Support Workers to join our services that provide support for adults with learning disabilities. We currently have vacant positions within the Kensington & Chelsea borough.

The Westminster Society is an award winning charity providing services for people with a range of learning disabilities and their families. We operate in Westminster, The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, Camden, and Islington and other London Boroughs. It is a great time to join an innovative an ambitious organisation.

Outreach Services

Our Outreach Services offers support for people with learning disabilities and this could be a couple of hours a week or 24-hour support per day. These services are often provided to people with some significant behaviours of concern and team members need to be creative and good at problem solving.

These services are designed to give people we support more flexibility, control, and choice in the kind of support they receive often working as partners with other organisations, families and professionals.

Working in these teams involves a significant amount of lone working and whilst applicants with experience are preferable we are also interested in candidates who:

  • demonstrate a passion for working with people with learning disabilities;
  • have the ability to accurately record relevant information from a support session, for example, activities undertaken and any issues identified
  • have confidence to engage with and support people that they have not previously worked with; and
  • can communicate appropriately with people with a wide variety of communication needs as well as families and other professionals.

If you are looking for a career in social care and you understand the impact you can have as a support worker in delivering excellent support we would like to hear from you.

The Society offers a great range of benefits including a minimum of 33 days annual leave (including the bank holidays), childcare vouchers and other family friendly policies, season ticket loans, and professional and personal development packages with opportunities for career progression as part of our Aspiring Managers, Inspiring Leaders (AMIL) programme.
