KCA Family Service Team has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, energetic Family Worker who will lead on our family support work within the London Borough of Harrow. You should share our values and passion for enabling greater opportunities for disabled children and young people and their families throughout their lives.

About the role;
The posts involve providing tailored family support to parents and carers of children, young people and adults (up to 25 years) with a disability; with a particular focus on families of children with high and complex support needs.

You will also provide timely and relevant information, signposting and onward referral to other services, specialist advice as well as promoting rights and enabling equal access to appropriate services.
Emotional and tailored practical support; promoting self-advocacy and advocate on behalf of the parents, carers and their family are also crucial elements of the job role. In addition you will develop and deliver parenting courses for targeted referrals for parents with children and young people with complex learning disabilities and behaviour that challenges. The successful candidate will also be required to work closely with the Children Youth and Families Service Manager to develop and support a single point of referral mechanism.

The role involves building positive working relationships with other service providers including social services, education and health services.

The roles will include occasional weekend and evening work and is limited to offering support to families in Harrow.
