151 – Children & Youth Sessional Driver – KCA

We deliver a range of exciting, creative and innovative specialist and inclusive services to children and young people with disabilities including those with complex physical and learning disabilities, communication disabilities such as autism and behaviours that can challenge. The role of the sessional driver will be to drive service users safely in to and from their homes to Kids Can Achieve and other destinations as is necessary.

We are currently looking for a Children and Youth Sessional Driver who: 

  • Holds PCV (Category D1) driving license
  • Have PCV driving Experience
  • Experience of driving in busy city traffic.
  • You must have no driving disqualifications in the last 10 years
  • You must have no more than 6 points currently on your driving license
  • You must have the right to work in the UK, or have a valid work permit.
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have a positive non-judgmental approach
  • Working knowledge of Safeguarding and an understanding of how this applies to this role

The role of the sessional driver will be to drive service users safely in to and from their homes to Kids Can Achieve and other destinations as is necessary. The post holder may be undertaking driving duties without a passenger assistant.

You will drive vehicles in a manner that ensures the safety and comfort of passengers, care and consideration for other road users. Provide support to service users to and from their own homes and in the community, with the aim of assisting them to maintain their optimum level of independence.
