This year NCS Challenge volunteers did two separate projects with us; one at Tresham Play Centre, the other at Kingsbridge Road, our short breaks service for adults.
At Tresham they made a short film with the children and staff. Iqbal, Play and Youth Service Manager, said ‘It was a fun day, the young people made such a great film’.
At Kingsbridge Road they did a garden makeover, it was one of the hottest days of the year and despite the heat they did a great job.
They also fundraised for us with a ‘Dragons Den’ style challenge, with a presentation on learning disabilities and won £200 and collected a further £70.
A big thanks to all the young people who took the challenge and The Challenge Coordinators.
The Westminster Society is calling for health equality for people with learning disabilities to ensure they have access to regular Covid-19 testing, and that vaccines are made available on an equitable basis alongside people living in elderly and nursing care facilities.
