Bravery from all at Bendrigg

21/08/2006

Have you ever thought you'd get an opportunity to go caving in Yordas cavern, Canadian canoeing on the lake Windermere, or zip wire through the forest? Well neither did a group of young adults wiht learning disabilities from the Croxley Project.

The Holiday to the Lake District  at Bendrigg Trust was an amazing outdoor Adventure week.  Everyone had the opportunity to experience all kind of new activities and challenges.

The activities of the week included; Caving in Yordas cavern, Canadian canoeing on the lake Windermere, Climbing & abseiling both on artificial and real rock,  Archery, giant tube slide, zip wire and rope course, camp fire and all kind of other games.  How could it not be a success?

For the whole week there we stayed in a beautiful self cutlery cottage situated in the middle of a field, where all of us participated in making our own breakfast, cleaning and tidying the place. For the evening meal we were looked after by a local chef being one of the best in the lakes!

At the end of the week each of us got a well deserved certificate for the completion the Active week where every one of us had been amazingly brave.
