You may have already heard about the new Government initiative which will enable people with learning disabilities to start receiving ‘Self Directed Support’. 

In the past people with learning disabilities have not had full control over choosing the support they receive and who gives them this support. The Government now wants all local authorities and organisations that provide services, to change their systems so that they offer Self Directed Support.
